An Austrian Airlines Boeing 737-600 was performing flight OS612 from Saint Petersburg (Russia) to Vienna (Austria). Aircraft was enroute at FL380 about 60nm northeast of Riga (Latvia) when suddenly a passenger became sick and he was prompting the crew to divert to Riga. The airplane landed safely just in 15 minutes. The sick passenger was taken to a local hospital in Riga.The airplane reached final destination - Vienna with a delay of one hour.
Austrian Airlines officialy confirmed a medical emergency on board, but asked for understanding that no further details related to the person can be provided.
